Crashing iOS 6.1

Id love to use the app, but it always crashes when I try to open. It shows the opening and crash. Ive tested on my iPod Touch 4Gen and iPhone 3GS and the app behaves in the same way. Help!

Not finished yet!

Sorry, but as soon as the cubes are moved to the corners they start to jump and change their symbol. This is really annoying!!! As soon as this will be fixed Im happy to give five stars

Great but could use some work

Using Story Cubes is great for breaking creative blocks. I even use it to come up with fun stories for with my son. And seeing how the real-life version isnt available in North America yet, Im glad they have an affordable iPhone version. However, this app could really use some improvement. It would be nice to be able to change the background or dice colours, and the dice themselves deperately need some anti-aliasing. The ability to make notes would be nice. Also, it would be grear to be able to lock certain dice, and reroll the rest.

Brilliant and addictive!

We all love this in our house big and small kids!

Awesome!

This review is based on both the game itself and the App. Awesome. Loads of fun for both the kids and adults. My kids keep asking me if we can play Story Cubes. What a great invention. Thanks!

Love it!

Loving this app! I have the original dice but havent been able to find the other sets so I was thrilled that I could have access to them here. I also love the mobility - got it on both my iPad and iPhone so I can get creative anywhere I go! Hoping you are planning to include the Scooby Doo and Medieval sets soon!

like them IRL, pretty good app, but IAP issues

Rorys Story Cubes are a fun thing, and this app does a good job of simulating selecting different sets of dice and then rolling some cubes, as well as adding a few dice manipulation features. Where it falls short though is bugs in the IAP system. I randomly get prompted to log in to the app store for no reason, and I cant restore purchases of other dice sets which I bought. So the app is multi-device, but the IAP doesnt seem to be, and Im assuming if I ever delete and reinstall it will be gone. Id normally contact the company first but I dont see an easy way too. And for a few $$ it isnt worth my time to track them down. But maybe I can save you a few $$ in dice set purchases. Base game? Recommended but youll want more variety is my guess. Other sets? Wait until they fix the IAP.

Süperr;-)

thanks story cubs

Very good

Thank you.

Resolution

Very nice game BUT please optimize the resolution of collections page for IPhone 6, its too small

I love these cubes!

Thanks so much for fixing the bug!! Im so happy to be able to play with all the sets offline now. This is an amazing app; I love having these sets in my pocket. The physics and sounds are so real. I was hoping the newest sets would be available for purchase, but there are still plenty available for those moments of boredom throughout the day.

Nice update!

Looks excellent. Still want to play sixteen cubes, and the ability to select individual cubes. How about a zoom out feature, so its easier to move cubes around? #FanForLife

Best $1.99 Ever

Ive been a fan of the physical cubes for a while now, in part because they are so innovative. Now I have the app as well, and it does not disappoint. Love this app.

Cool but

Pretty neat idea. It definitly helps with some gamers block. It might help if there was an option to suggest meanings for the die, instead of just pictures. Three bucks is a bit pricey for a die program. The rolling physics work well but the realism of dice getting stuck on their edge is a tad annoying

Love It! Looking forward to expansion packs!

This game is perfect for family fun! The function is totally intuitive - a simple shake and your game begins. The features of the game are well thought out and the sound fx are engaging without being annoying. You (and your friends, and your kids) will be glad you made this purchase! Bonus: This is one of those simple apps that you will want to pull out in those "look what my phone can do" moments! So great!

Deceptively simple

I first acquired the Cubes in their corporeal form as a gift from my boss. I love taking them to the schools when I volunteer, and I use them in the library where I work. The app is beautiful and easy to use.

Great Fun for budding story tellers

I was considering this game for my 5 y/o son, a beginning reader. While this doesnt help with "reading" per se, I thought it might be a fun way to encourage creativity and "authorship" by him without being hindered by words he cant spell/write yet. So I wanted to see the images contained in the set to determine if they are comprehensible by a child. So far of the images I have seen, the only ones that may be difficult (as they are difficult for me) are the capital L in a box and the omni-direction arrow. Since this is a UK game, I can only wonder if those have some kind of meaning there that they dont have in the US. Also, since there are two arrows, one a bow and arrow type, another a directionality, I am not sure that kids can understand that one is a noun while the other, I am guessing, is a verb (go??). Despite this, I believe that the average 5 year old vocabulary can make up stories using these images with the occasional challenge. And, even if my son doesnt enjoy it, I sure as heck am! :)

Love this

I bought the physical cubes (both packs) for my nieces and they love them. We wrote two stories, illustrations and all, within a few hours of them being opened. Getting the app (which works perfectly) for myself because I love the idea of having these with me when Im starting at a blank page and need a random nudge. The cubes are great for everyone, not just kids, who just needs a random idea once in a while. Looking forward to the existing expansion being available and will happily pay for that and others as well.

Time for an update

I really like the real cubes, and the app is a neat approximation. As a writer and filmmaker, its an instant source of inspiration when I need it as well as a way to keep my skills up. However, the retina display is now officially an apple staple across multiple devices, and the graphic quality of the app is lacking. With the release of a new iPhone I hope to see an upgrade to retina graphics so using the app is as pleasant as using the real cubes.

needs retina display update

this is a great game with a very blurry interface. it deserves better.
